Boeing 787 Dreamliner
The aircraft uses lightweight components such as composite carbon-fiber materials and modern engineering technology. These materials make the airplane lighter and could fly more fuel-efficient. The aircraft usually carries about 210–330 passengers and flies up to about 13,000–14,000 kilometers at a cruising speed of around Mach 0.85. The airplane operates with advanced turbofan engines such as the Rolls‑Royce Trent 1000 and the General Electric GEnx depends on airline preference.
In physical terms, the aircraft has a large fuselage, long flexible and aerodynamic wings to reduce drag, and large electronically dimmable windows. The flexible wings improve aerodynamic performance, while the modern and humid cabin provides more comfortable environment for passengers especially during long haul flights.
The Dreamliner family consist of three variants: the Boeing 787-8, Boeing 787-9, and Boeing 787-10. These variants differ mainly in size, passenger capacity, and flight range.
Overall, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner is one of the most popular and advanced aircraft in modern aviation industry. Airlines frequently use it because it operates efficiently, reduces fuel consumption, and improves both passengers and crews comfort especially on long-distance flights.
